Self-Describing Media (SDM) PHP API Demo
This is an extremely simple demonstration of the PHP API for reading and
interpreting keywords and field data added by the Media Purveyor application
(see Downloads).
Using this API it is easy to integrate Purveyor based descriptions
into existing content management systems or dynamic web galleries that
have been built using the PHP language (a COM/ActiveX API
is also available for Win32 integration).
Place a check next to keywords and click the Search button, the script will
filter the result set on the server and return results.
NOTE: Concerning Test Data
Each image below has one Color, Shape and Number. This oversimplified example
is intended to illustrate the problem of "cross cutting concerns" and the way
that Media Purveyor solves this problem. Simply put, members of a
business or community often have differing ideas on how information should be
organized based on their relationship to that information. A rigid directory
structure locks you into a one dimensional view of your data. A keyword system,
on the other hand, provides a multi-dimensional means of accessing information.
Furthermore, since the data is portable files can exist independent of
specific physical locations.
Licensing
The API is released under the Mozilla Public License v1.1. Simply write
