A "View" is an image revision or edit that is stored inside the image file as a set of instructions. All versions of Media Purveyor can display and print Views (even the free Lite version).

Advantages over standard image editing

• A View can layer 43 different effects using 7 application stencils.
• Preserve the original image data. Views are completely non-destructive and never overwrite the original image.
• Store an unlimited number of Views in each file.
• Easily keep track of file versions; all revisions are stored inside the original source file.
• Views use less disk space than generating separate files. A simple View can use as little as 1kb while a View with many effects and stencils is typically less than 6kb. Compare that with generating new images at 40-600kb.
• Views retain quality since there is no need to re-encode the image with lossy compression methods (JPEG, TIFF, J2C).
• Views are portable because all the View information is stored inside the file. Display Views on any computer running Media Purveyor. Since Media Purveyor Lite is free it is easy to share this work with others.
