Organization

In addition to a powerful description based search
Media Purveyor offers a robust set of conventional file organization features:
- Folder Tree View - Conventional folder view.
- Bookmarks - Quickly access common work folders.
- Collections - User defined virtual folders (also called albums by some applications).
A single file can belong to many Collections making the Collection a wonderful
way to organize files by usage. Each Collection features a To-Do list to simplify
task management.
Move, Copy, Delete
- Easily cut, copy, paste files between folders and collections.
- Multiple Delete Options: Recycle Bin, Permanent Delete, or Bleach (secure delete)
- Optional audit trail will log file operations for historical purposes.
Sorting
- Quickly order media files by name, size, creation/last viewed/last modified date
- Advanced users will appreciate the custom ordering option that will sort files based on any set of
descriptive fields including user defined fields, EXIF data, image metrics, file information, etc..
- Media Purveyor's "True Name" sort recognizes when a filename contains a
number and correctly orders the file list regardless of whether the numbers are zero padded.
When scrolling thumbnails a "Visual Glossary" displays an index to allow
immediate location of media files based on the current sort. When ordering
based on a date field the index is essentially a timeline. Another simple but
useful convenience is that the glossary indicates the position of selected thumbnails
so that selected files cannot be lost; even in a folder of more than
10,000 files.
File Renaming Options
- Rename files using descriptive information. All metadata information
can be included in a filename including keywords, using defined fields,
Dublin Core fields, EXIF, series number, etc..
- Drag and drop thumbnails to re-order media and use the Numbered Series
renaming option to generate a progression of numbered files.
- Avoid name conflicts by adding a prefix or suffix to all selected
files.
- Since folder names are frequently meaningful Media Purveyor offers the
option to include part of the path name directly into the filename.
